No. Although it is recommended to be a martial artist to fully enjoy our services, anyone can become an IMA member. Even if you do not have any experience in martial arts, there is still much to gain and explore on our website.

There are 2 types of membership available: Member and Affiliate

Members have free access to various information and services. Affiliates have access to extra content and services, which are focused on  deeper aspects of teaching and training and much more.

Both members and affiliates can enjoy our lively community.

In order to become an affiliate, the member should complete the following criteria:
A) Holds a minimum  accredited rank of Dan 1 or expert 1 .
B) Holds an accredited instructors certificate.
C) Teaches regularly active students  in an organized location.
D) Was accepted into our affiliation program.

IMA assembled Israeli martial arts leaders, from various arts and disciplines into a professional Steering Committee – the best in their fields. Together they share the knowledge and experience of over 400 years.

IMA members will get the latest and most up-to-date professional material on martial arts, Israeli combat disciplines and combat related topics, including: articles, videos, test-cases analysis, seminar invitations and world activities.
Members will enjoy preferred conditions when registering to our official activities.

Once you will be approved as an Affiliate:

We will put your club on IMA world map and on IMA clubs list

You can publish high quality pictures, videos and articles on our website

You will get access to:

  • Videos made for Affiliates’ only
  • Training programs and training tips
  • Professional articles
  • Class outlines
  • PowerPoint presentations
  • IMA official syllabus
  • IMA methods

You will also be able to enroll to our:

  • Rank advancement’s program
  • Professional qualifications
  • Official examiner qualification
  • Syllabus or Martial Art accreditation program
7. Is my current rank recognized by the IMA ? 2017-11-28T13:45:07+03:00

You can check for yourself in our list of accredited organizations. If you can not find the organization who granted you the rank there, send us your certificates for assessment. In some cases, we will direct you to a professional assessment process. This process is conducted when we do not know the school/organization/teacher who gave you your certificates. After all, it’s a big world out there and we do not know everyone.

8. Can I be a member in the IMA and another organization at the same time? 2017-11-28T13:46:04+03:00

Yes, IMA does not ask for any exclusivity.

9. Can I be tested for a rank online? 2017-12-04T15:47:25+03:00

Yes, but only until the level of a brown belt.
If you wish to be graded to a level of black belt 1st Dan- 3rd Dan, you may contact one of our official examiners.

If you wish to attend an examination to a higher rank, 4th Dan and up, you must contact us.

If you wish to take an online belt examination, you will need to fill an application form and follow the required testing process.

10. As an Affiliate, may I put your logo in my website ? 2017-12-04T15:51:00+03:00

Once sighing an affiliate agreement we will supply you with our ‘Official Affiliate’s Logo’ to be presented in your  website, Facebook and other social media’s. The logo remains IMA property, and you can use it only according to our written agreement. You do not have to use it,  However, as an affiliate you will be required only to insert a specific link from your website to our homepage.

11. Am I obliged to take my grading with IMA? 2017-11-28T22:12:09+03:00

No, however most people prefer to be graded with us, because our grading procedure is very structured, clear, professional and impartial.
